Astro HPE Sealant is a high pressure exerting, graphite based, intumescent sealant that expands when exposed to fire to protect penetrations, including pipes and cables. It also maintains the integrity and insulation performance of the seal.

The sealant is smoke, gas and air tight.

Under fire conditions the product swells and exerts pressure to the surrounding substrates leading to closure of the penetration. The integrity and insulation is then maintained by the stability of the remaining product char.

The sealant is intended for use in all types of service penetration through walls and floors where fire integrity and insulation needs to be preserved. It has excellent non slump properties coupled with ease of application due to its water based nature.

Suitable for sealing Armaflex insulation. Suitable for use in irregular applications.

Tested in Lightweight Partitions (plasterboard).

Insulation properties. Easy clean up with water and is odourless. Long life and can be over-painted.

Causes no known deleterious effects to plastic pipes, plastic cables, sheathing or metallic components.

Resists fungi and vermin.

Applications Data

For sealing combustible and non combustible penetrations - including metallic pipes, PVC, HDPE and ABS.

Suitable for use in Block Wall, Concrete, Masonry and Plasterboards Partition.

Sealing combustible pipes up to 125mm. (2 hrs integrity and insulation).

Sealing of cables, Telecommunication bunches, Small, Medium and Large.

Can be used for sealing pipes with Armaflex insulation.

Can be used in linear joints - tested up to 20mm wide.

To achieve the correct fire rating the following guide on pipe / gap sizes and fill depths should be followed.
